Abstract:
The place and role of an individual in economic theories has traditionally attracted the attention of researchers, describing the objectives and mechanisms of economic agents’ behavior. The article presents a survey of views on the motives that influences the individual’s decisions, the degree of their rationality, as well as the evolution of theoretical approaches and their current status. Modern economic theory increasingly operates not only with the ideal economic individual, but also tries to take into account many features of its behavior from the economic to the psychological and historical. In this regard, it is stated that the discussion of the transformation ways of the domestic economic environment should be grounded both on current theoretical views as well as the behavior of a Russian «Economic Man», and the mechanisms of his choice in the current socio-economic situation.
