Abstract:

The article examines the impact of digital technologies on changes in the public sector of the economy. The large-scale use of digital technologies raises the issue of the need to change the rules and norms for creating public goods, the importance of using modern business models in the public sector, as well as involving civil society in solving socially significant problems by means of crowdfunding, crowdsourcing, digital platforms and tools of «sharing» economy. The paper shows that the most important resource in the conditions of digitalization capable to increase the efficiency of the public sector is data. The author notes that public sector organizations have a significant impact on the development of the digital economy.
