The historical evolution of economic theory: from doctrine of «home economics» through political economy to «economics»

Abstract:

The paper studies the historical sequence of formation and development of economics as a branch of scientific knowledge stood apart and attracting more interest in academic disciplines. Some aspects of the object and subject of economic theory are disclosed, the possible directions of extension subject field of economic theory, including through «harmonization» of the two mutually exclusive directions of development of economic theory — the political economy and economics, are shown.
