The Evolution of the Territorial Competition and Interterritorial Cooperation

Abstract:

The article substantiates the position that the territorial competition and cooperation of territories are in constant development and they are not exclusive of each other. This indicates that there is a development process of competitive cooperation. This conclusion is based both on the results of theoretical research of Russian and foreign scientists, and on the results of opinion polls conducted by the authors in 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2014. In this regard, a particular attention is paid to the definition of the factors initiating the development of a competitive cooperation in the modern economy, on the one hand, on the other — the factors that hinder development.
