The effects of foreign direct investmenton the innovative activity of the Russian enterprises

Abstract:

This paper is devoted to the results of empirical research of the innovation activity factors of Russian enterprises. The innovation activity presented as the number of patents received by enterprises. The main method of this research was econometric analysis based on the assessment of the logit-models using panel data. Information basis of this research was the statistical data of the Federal Service of State Statistics and the database Orbis that included 10 272 Russian companies. Significant indicators characterizing the effects of foreign direct investment on the innovative activity of Russian enterprises were identified in the results from the empirical research. Thus, research results can be used for developing of the state policy directions concerning attraction of direct foreign investments and state regulation of innovative activity of Russian enterprises.
