The Development of Methodological Approach to Change in Technological Shape of Basic Branch of Industrial Region

Abstract:

The study offers a methodological approach to single out the priority directions for technological development of basic sectors in the industrial regions. Its unique feature is to carry out bibliometric modeling as a preliminary framework disclosing key areas of basic industries development at the first stage; to conduct research in the regional patent activity in the selected development directions at the second stage; to single out the agreed priorities to upgrade basic industries on the basis of the Foresight methodology at the third stage. The approbation of proposed methodology carried out on the Urals metallurgical complex as an example.
