Abstract:

The need to transform the economy regularly arises in any society. The goals of economic reform are to increase the efficiency of its functioning, to overcome the consequences of economic crises as well as to eliminate social and economic contradictions. Scientific substantiation of the processes of economic reform is an important task of economic theory. The article reveals the role of economic science as a theoretical foundation of economic policy and economic reform processes. The authors examine the basic theoretical and methodological foundations of economic reform as well as justify the need to create an algorithm for the development and implementation of reforms. We also characterize the criteria that should determine the choice of an effective model of economic reform. The authors proposed an approach to determining the effectiveness of economic reform. The theoretical-methodological approaches formulated in the article can be used in the process of developing and implementing reforms at all levels of management.
