Abstract:

The article analyzes the mutual influence of international economic relations (IER) and innovation activities of enterprises. The relevance of the article is determined by the increased influence of IER on innovation due to globalization and the expanding international division of labor. The article provides an overview of approaches to defining innovation and the existing classifications of innovations. There is, however, a perceived lack of classifications that would take into account the impact of IER. To address this research gap, the article proposes a classification of innovations from the perspective of IER. The definitions of IER are also analyzed as well as the factors of their development. Forms and effects of international cooperation and the corresponding trends in the innovation sector are described. This article expands the theoretical apparatus of research on innovation by taking into account the impact of international economic relations.
