Abstract:
The article suggested understanding of innovation activity in the region as its level of innovation development, manifested in the intensity of the development and production of subjects of economic activities of the new high-tech products (services). So, innovative activity is considered as an indicator that reflects the State of innovative image of the region. There are two groups of indicators in the structure of innovation activity of the region that describe the readiness of a specific territory for innovation and impact of innovation. The status of innovative activity is analyzed for example of the Sverdlovsk region. Special attention is given to problems of stagnation of innovative processes in the region, reflected in declining share of innovative products in the total production, low patent activity, reducing the share of enterprises producing new products. There are identified the main causes of low innovation activity in the region and provides proposals for improving this.
