Abstract:
Despite the urgency of the problem of food security for our country and attention to this issue by the government and researchers, methodology of analysis of food security at the regional level does not correspond to the level of the problem. Experience of research of regional food security is accumulated in world practice, where it is based on the analysis of household food security. Assuming this approach as fundamental in determining the regional food security, the authors offer definition of regional food security and the methodology of its analysis based on the index of food security. The comparative analysis allows us to formulate the basic provisions of the regional agricultural policy that increase the level of food security in the region.
