Abstract:

There is a lack of unified conceptual understanding of human capital, even though it is a key asset for organizational sustainable development. This study addresses this gap by rethinking and enhancing human capital components through a descriptive unstructured review. The analysis identifies basic elements such as health, education, professional skills, and experience, emphasizing the individual as a foundational asset. The superstructure comprises dynamic qualities such as adaptability, social skills, leadership, creativity, and organizational culture, extending the concept beyond traditional bounds. The study proposes a refined classification of human capital, emphasizing both basic and superstructure elements. This approach to human capital management becomes essential to ensure organizations’ adaptability amid growing uncertainty.
