Monitoring of Sustainable Development of Territories

Abstract:

The article is devoted to the relevant issue of monitoring the sustainable development of the economy in the period of instability and international sanctions. The author describes his approach to the adaptation of the methodology of sustainable development in terms of meeting the needs of the population and improving the quality of life. After a critical review of the views of some economists speaking about the growth trends of a number of macroeconomic indicators in kind, the author proposes new approaches to reflecting the reality and ensuring the sustainability of the economy. These approaches are based on the concept, which puts a priority on population reproduction and workforce quality improvement in contrast to the priorities of reproduction of means of production in the field of material production, traditional for domestic economic theory. Proposed theoretical approaches to the monitoring can be a methodological basis for the practical implementation of the strategy of sustainable development of territories in the long term.
