Abstract:

This article assesses the approaches to the empirical analysis of the notion of social capital, suggests the analysis of databases of various types of capital accumulated in society along the lines of Olsen groups and Putnam groups, depending on a trust radius representative of these groups. Based on the data of the WorldValueSurvey and Russian regions, it is empirically proven that trust in big-radius groups correlates with the level of economic welfare. The study allows us to conclude that there are prerequisites for the formation of social capital with positive externalities of economic growth in Russian society.
